the challenge
The starting point.
The Games Market is Italy's first video game grader: it examines every item against a hundred parameters, assigns it a score, and that score enters the international market as an objective guarantee of authenticity and value. In short, buyers know what they're buying, and sellers know what they're selling. Building that credibility takes a method. Certifying it is what set The Games Market apart from everyone else, the first in Italy, and among the very few worldwide in video game grading, to obtain ISO 9001. Before certification, consistency in evaluations relied on personal experience and on consulting professionals who had worked for years in established international grading systems, a credible benchmark to evaluate against rather than inventing a method from nothing. But trust built that way starts from your own circle: people who trust you because they know you personally, or because someone authoritative vouched for you. It's a starting point, not a destination. To be credible even to people who had never shaken your hand, on the other side of the world, there were only two roads: communication and certification. The second gives an argument nobody can contest, in Italy or abroad.
OUR SOLUTION
What we have done.
✓
Documentation of grading processes that already existed in solid, rigorous form in practice, such as multi-angle photography before analysis and the hundred-parameter evaluation sheet, but had never been put down on paper.
✓
Formalization of relational processes with clients and suppliers, until then managed informally and relying on personal memory, replacing them with procedures that don't depend on who happens to be handling things that day.
✓
Introduction of a structured way to turn problems into improvements: analyzing what caused an issue and correcting the process at the root, instead of treating every incident as an isolated exception.
✓
A first surveillance audit, in 2026, confirming that the system had been built to keep improving over time, not just to earn a certificate and put it in a drawer.
A third party attesting to the quality of our processes is one more layer of guarantee. Deals close much faster now, because the preliminary questions that used to take up a good part of the conversation already have an answer. And that free time can be used to talk about what actually matters.

What changed after the certificate.
Deals close much faster, since questions on quality and process, which used to take up a good part of the conversation, now answer themselves, leaving room to talk about what really matters.
The 2026 surveillance audit confirmed the system is built to keep improving over time, not just to earn a certificate and file it away.
In Italy, The Games Market remains the only certified video game grader; internationally, it stands on equal footing with, or ahead of, older and more established players, on the one ground where extra years of history can't be replicated.
A question that used to come up again and again, "who are you to do this job?", is now answered in a single line, letting the conversation move straight to how the company actually works.
