Frequently asked questions about funding for ISO certification.

What funding is available for ISO certifications in 2026?

Funding comes from three levels. Regions publish calls dedicated to certifications, such as Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Piedmont and Sardinia. Chambers of Commerce fund ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001 and UNI/PdR 125 every year with non-repayable vouchers. At national level there are the Bando ISI INAIL, the contribution exemption for gender equality and the bonus points in public tenders. With the tool above you can see in 30 seconds which ones apply to your province.

How much does a funding call cover?

Usually between 50% and 80% of eligible costs, up to a cap. Chamber of Commerce vouchers generally range from €2,000 to €10,000, regional calls reach €30,000 and, for advanced industrial certifications in Lombardy, up to €220,000. The Bando ISI INAIL funds up to 80% of ISO 45001 projects, with a maximum of €130,000. There are often extra points if you hold the legality rating or gender equality certification, or if you are a women-led or youth-led business.

Does the grant also cover consultancy and audits?

Almost always, yes. Most calls cover the consultancy to build the management system, training and the certification body's audit. Some also cover renewals and maintenance, such as those in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Sardinia, others only the first certification. Eligible costs change from call to call: we check them with you before you apply, so the quote already complies.

Do I need to apply before starting the certification process?

It depends on the call, and it's where most grants are lost. Some calls require you to apply before starting and only accept costs incurred afterwards. Others, like several Chamber of Commerce vouchers, are submitted once you already hold the certificate, as long as it was issued in the year of the call. A Lead Auditor tells you the right order and timing, so you don't lose the grant because of a step taken too early.

Which certifications receive the most funding?

ISO 45001 and UNI/PdR 125 are among the most rewarded. ISO 45001 can be funded up to 80% through the Bando ISI and, once obtained, reduces your INAIL premium by up to 28% every year. Gender equality certification entitles you to a 1% exemption on contributions, up to €50,000 a year, plus extra points in calls and tenders. ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 appear often in sustainability calls, while ISO 27001 is frequently included in digital transition vouchers.

Can I combine several incentives?

Often yes, but with rules. Many grants fall under the de minimis regime, which caps the aid received over three years, and some calls cannot be combined with others on the same costs. Incentives of a different kind, such as the gender equality exemption or reduced guarantees in tenders, can sit alongside calls without problems. Before you apply, we check the limits of your case with you.

What happens if the call is closed?

Many certification calls come out every year, often between January and May, and some close within days once the funds run out. If there's no open call for your standard today, we'll let you know as soon as one comes out. Meanwhile we can prepare the management system and the quote, so you can apply on the first possible day.

How long does it take to get certified with Complaion?

A few weeks in most cases. The platform automates 80% of the documentation and a certified Lead Auditor guides you through every stage, from gap analysis to the certification body's audit. That way you also meet the call's deadlines, which often require the certification to be completed within 6–12 months of the grant being awarded.
